Cardiology
Every heartbeat tells a story, and cardiologists listen carefully to diagnose, treat, and protect the rhythm of life.
Siddharth, 18, was a state-level wrestler. He came in after a neck injury during a match. X-rays were normal, and he was sent home. Two days later, he returned with tingling and weakness in his arms.
I ordered an MRI. It revealed a central cord syndrome from hyperextension injury. He underwent urgent decompression and rehab.
He later asked, “Could I have been paralyzed if I had waited longer?”
Yes.
A normal X-ray doesn’t rule out spinal cord injury. Always correlate with neurology and use MRI when in doubt—delay costs function.
